Verbos irregulares: ir, fazer, dizer, ver…

Ir: vou, vai, vamos, vão. Fazer: faço. Dizer: digo. Ver: vejo. Dar: dou. Poder: posso. Querer: quero. Saber: sei. Vir: venho. Trazer: trago. Pôr: ponho.

Rule and examples

Ir, fazer, dizer

Ir: eu vou · você vai · nós vamos · vocês vão. Fazer: eu faço · você faz · nós fazemos · vocês fazem. Dizer: eu digo · você diz · nós dizemos · vocês dizem. The “eu” form is the most different: faço (never “fazo”), digo (never “dizo”).

Example Eu vou. · Eu faço. · Eu digo.

Ver, dar, poder, querer

Ver: eu vejo · você vê · nós vemos · vocês veem. Dar: eu dou · você dá · nós damos · vocês dão. Poder: eu posso · você pode · nós podemos · vocês podem. Querer: eu quero · você quer · nós queremos · vocês querem. The accents of vê, dá and dão belong to the word; “veem” is now written without an accent.

Example Eu vejo. · Ela dá. · Eu posso. · Eu quero.

Saber, vir, trazer, pôr

Saber: eu sei · você sabe · nós sabemos · vocês sabem. Vir: eu venho · você vem · nós vimos · vocês vêm. Trazer: eu trago · você traz · nós trazemos · vocês trazem. Pôr: eu ponho · você põe · nós pomos · vocês põem. In Spanish it is “sé, vengo, traigo, pongo”: the Portuguese forms are different.

Example Eu sei. · Eu venho. · Eu trago. · Eu ponho.
